Why not spend your holiday this year in the beautiful Dordogne? We have just the property for you in an idyllic setting just inside the Dordogne but with the advantage that it is in the valley of the river Dronne bordering with the wonderful Charente, which also offers some stunning scenery.
LOCATION
We are situated between the two market towns of Riberac (Friday - 9km) and Chalais (Monday - 12km) both of which are full of atmosphere and have large supermarkets. Other local towns and villages offer a wide range of facilities to include, canoeing, horse riding, walking. There are small beaches on the river Dronne at St. Aulaye and Aubeterre where you can swim safely. Aubeterre is only five km. away and is one of the show villages of France. Bicycles can be hired at Riberac. There is a golf course within easy reach and a public course at Perigueux.
There are many historic places to visit in the area. The historic cities of Angoulême, Bérgerac and Perigueux are within easy reach and the famous wine area of St. Emilion is just one hour away and the town is very picturesque.
THE PROPERTY
The property is an old farmhouse, recently renovated, covering 150 m sq. on two floors and offers accommodation for six people in comfort and comprises :-- Ground floor
- Entrance hall, lounge, kitchen/diner, and in a self contained suite a double bedroom and bathroom including a Jacuzzi and separate shower. There is also a separate W.C. including a wash hand basin.
- The kitchen includes:- Oven, hob and fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave
- Dining area : refectory table seating six comfortably
- The kitchen and lounge feature traditional fireplaces with log burning stoves.
- Upstairs
- Two double bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with twin beds. The bathroom comprises bath, W.C. and washbasin. There are also hair dryers for your use.
- Outside
- Lawn / Gardens - ample space for outside eating
- Swimming Pool (10 x 5m)
GENERAL
All linen is included but you do need to provide your own swimming towels. There is a cot and highchair available if required.
All of the rooms have exposed beams. Feel free to sit in the garden and eat outside if you wish. English television programmes are available on the lounge T.V.
At the risk of stating the obvious this is self-catering accommodation. We regret that we cannot accept pets and also that there is a no smoking policy within the property.
Fraisse is a small hamlet of four houses just ½ mile from the village of Chassaignes, which itself is 8 kms west of Riberac.
The owners are readily available if you have any difficulties.
